Over the past week I've been looking into the blower drive take off that I was contemplating - ie from the alternator fixing bolt [ 12mm ]. It's the only logical / practical place, but I was concerned about the torsional shear stress on the fixing. The blower will take around 15 - 20 bhp to drive, but it's the inertia that needs to be overcome that's a concern. Soooooooooo - back to the turbo then !!! What's that about " I used to be indecisive - now I'm not so sure" !!
The blower set up is much more familiar to me, but I do not want to take the risk of a marginal drive output. So I will revert to using he same take off to drive the Gixer oil pump for the oil cooler and turbo feed. The only good news [ ? ] is that I spent some months thinking about the turbo set up and planning the packaging. One of the major benefits is the much lower weight and compactness.
The decision was finally declared a no-brainer when our pal Der-Nanno informed me that he's found a carbon seal turbo for his TR1 project. Thanx mate ! That means I can use the SU carb I have in a draw through set-up and I already bought most of the ancillaries I will need - boost gauge, oil pressure gauge, oil lines and fittings, etc., etc. That makes the whole packaging much simpler - including manifolding, even my 2 > 1 high level exhaust will easily hook up to the turbo flange !
The ramp and all parts are now round at my pal's garage, he's just finishing replacing and moving some of the light fittings and then we're good to go.

So it begins ..... again !
Set up in my pal's garage. Dummy engine and parts will be installed this week. remarkably I have located MOST of the parts that were in my shed !!
Next job [ next week ] is to align front wheel and measure up for the wheel spacers - then I can roughly align the rear wheel and again measure for spacers.

Turbo is on the way now - should be here this week. I've spoken to my pal who makes the C Type Jaguar replicas, and he will make the fuel cell up for me from alloy sheet. It will go underneath the frame - in the style of a Moto GP fairing / catch tank.

probably I know Nanno from Austria through the german Caferacer Forum ?
He has a lot of experience with turbos on a Twin (well, V-Twin TR1) and he is welding exhaust systems.
Well, move on and sprint the 1/8 mile at Glemseck 2018 !

So looking forward for Gregs input on turbo charging and the things around it.
Be aware, that a TR1 can easily be changed to 1100 ccm and even more !
You have to add some extra boost to cope with that
Not sure if Greg is using NOS for his Glemseck Sprinter ?

Ha ................ like me Michael, Greg is not certain to choose Turbo or Supercharger. In fact he has the same issue as me, no suitable take off point for the blower drive. No, NO Nitrous as far as I know ! maybe he keeps that as his secret weapon.
I am still looking at possibilities for the blower drive as in all honesty I do prefer the blower over the Turbo. However, I now have my brand new CT20 carbon seal turbo - so at least I have the choice.

I love the supercharger [Kompressor]
... but it needs to be driven mechanically !
With the Z750 parallel twin it would fit much better than with any V-Twin.
Turbo is a matter of matching exhaust and inlet tubes, which might be easier to fit.
Still your choice

That is my dilemma Michael. The blower does neatly fit above the gearbox area and all is quite straightforward with manifolds, carb., etc. It is just the matter of the drive pulley. I have another idea for using the end of the alternator - where the 12mm bolt is. I am surprised that the turbo is so heavy ....... only .5 kilo lighter than the Eaton blower ! I know that Greg wants to see the KZ with a blower !
Ah yes - the extra "power" .......... don't forget I am planning a 70 bhp [ approx ] Nitrous boost as well as the blower !
I think the ultimate decision will depend on the blower drive ...... if that can be substantial, then that is my choice.

They have done this: Supercharger driven from the (dry) ignition side.
Probably drive direction needs to be reverted or can be adopted with the position of the blowers sprocket (top vs. bottom) ?
