New KZ750 owner from Holland.

Beitrag von GenesiZ »

Hi there!!

I'm a brand new KZ750B1 owner from the flat boring lands of the Netherlands!!

Last year when i did a rebuild of my first bike, a Honda CB SevenFifty, i saw Beton's 750 Twin and i fell in love immediately and wanted one also!!

When i was a small boy (around 6/7 years) i was determent to get my motorcycle license and i drooled at a Kawasaki racer at the local bike store. The store got bankrupted, the Kawa disappeared and finally last year when i got 29 i finally got my license.

To cut the long story short, last year i saw Beton's Kawa and i told my self that i wanted it to. So it took almost a year (no money but one for sale and money but nothing for sale) to got a good deal for a complete B1 and an almost complete B1 in parts without the frame.

Al in a very good condition considering the age and including a few electric diagram's and the original supplyed manual for the B1 and the B2!

A very nice touch is the license-plate. This frame has got XL-83-83 and 1983 is my birth year !! The XL-83-87 is the license-plate of the missing frame.

I'm going to rebuild it to a street-tracker/travelers-bike. My other big hobby/semi-job is photographing and i want this to be my photo-bike so it has to be comfortable, not to noisy and being fitted with a rack for my gear that can easy be disassembled for daily use.

This isn't going to be a Wrenchmonkees bike but more a Deus Ex style of bike!

I will be reading a lot on the forum, i want to get familiar with the problems and know-how of the 750 Twin and i can't wait to take it for a spin in a couple of months!

Cheers!

Hi GenesiZ,

welcome in the Z750Twin Forum!

Very nice introduction with a lot of pictures, appreciated ;-)

Please be aware that the B1/B2 are compatible to each other, B3/B4 have an other front fork, crankshaft, different alternator and rectifier/regulator.

All the other Twins: (G), CSR and LTD are even more incompatible.
Except obvious things like frame, fuel tank, etc. they have other carburators and a different (contactless) ignition.

If you have questions or need some parts just use the forum to get help !

Cheers,
Michael

PS: Have you used the "english page" to enter the www.z750twin.de and are now using Google Chrome with the translation option ?

PPS: You may like the english language forum in the UK as well.

Denkt dran:
Die Drehrichtung des Motors an der Zündungsseite ist gegen(!) den Uhrzeigersinn.
Die Steuerkette nur bei montiertem Ventildeckel spannen, sonst droht ein kapitaler Motorschaden!
Allzeit Gute Fahrt!
