Hi AtLarge,
my father was riding bikes, last was a Honda CB900F2 (Bol d'Or with large fairing).
My uncle is riding Z750LTD Twin as well.
He just visited me this weekend ;-)
He has got the award for the oldest attendee at the Twin meeting 2013, just 57 years old:

A portrait of his bike is here:

Nils, my younger son is absolutely keen on riding bikes, but he is just 15 years old and not allowed to do it legally:

Not a relative but my companion in life is Maria.
She loves bike riding on her own bikes. Despite a Yamaha YZF600R "Thundercat" she has her own Z750LTD Twin.
She with her "Thundercat" at last years holidays at Garda Lake in Italy:

Cheers, Michael

Hallo AtLarge,
what a wonderful photo. These are two Harley Davidson WLA, right?
Well, motorcycle-riding is also very popular in my family: my grandpa has got an DKW RT 250 after the WW II, and the father of my wife called a NSU Max his own. Nowadays my wife rides a Harley Davidson Sportster, my oldest son a Buell and is looking additional for an italian oldtimer, and my younger son has had a Honda 125 Varadero, when he was 17 years old. Now he is looking for a kz750 B or a similar Twin. I am very happy, that my motorcycle-bacillus jumped over to my sons. When you got the bacillus once in your blood, you never loose it :-)
Ride with happiness in 2015,
Ralf

Sehr ge photos Michael. Keepin' it real in the family.
Ralf, your guess shows you already know more about HD's than I do.
Yes, that bacteria gets in the system and is very hard to vaccinate.
This is a shot of my older brother and I somewhere around 1971. He still rides too but he's been a Beemer guy for years.
This is my Grandfather teaching me to twist wrenches. Grandma made him swear off motorcycles years before and he never strayed. She did not say he could not work on them though.
This is me again shortly before I married. I too made an oath and sold it thereafter. Fortunately, she could see I was not myself and relented after a 10 year hiatus. It will be 32 years for us now this July. The union nor the motorcycles have killed me. Yet...

Sadly i am alone. I do believe my Mums brother was into his bikes but i only met him about a year before he passed away.
So i am the rebel in my family. I have started bikes going. My Daughter Kerry is engagaed to a biker and enjoys the biking scene with me. She had a Chinese 125 for 2 years and says one day she will do her test.
She also adores my twins. I wanted to sell once but she threatened not to speak to me. I have had to make her a promise that i will paint my twin white for her wedding.

The history of motorcycling on this site is very interesting !
I got the bacillus while looking two movies. The first was a documentation about the HD-Club of Berlin. And the second was a movie about a croupier in Monte Carlo, who drove a Kawasaki KH750 and was saving money for the new z900. The pictures of his riding through the streets of Monaco by looking across his instruments was so exciting, that I dreamed of my own bike from this day.
I started with one of the rare 4-strokers in these days, a Honda Dax. I was 16 years old, so it was in 1976 (the man at the right side is my father):

Sorry, I made a mistake with the "response"-button
My second, "real" motorcycle was a Yamaha XS400. I bought it from a guy, who´s profession was just be "son"
I have had a wonderful trip to France, Saint Tropez together with a friend with his Yamaha XT500. Dolce-vita-time ! Great!!
My third bike was a Honda CX500 C with music boxes at the handlebar ! Crazy...
I had to sell the bike after an accident in 1980
Ten years later I got my Harley Davidson FXSTC, which I still have and had have a lot of interesting trips/tours. Together with my z750 she is my great love

Here is my younger son, very proudly waiting for his first ride on his Honda Varadero 125. On the picture he is 16 years old. Now, with nearly 23 years, he is looking for a bigger Twin. Especially z750 b or Bonnie
