Are the holes for the turn signal stems the only difference from the OE tail light without the holes?

If so, do they hold up over time or do they crack from vibration with the stems attached?

I am considering adding the holes to mine and moving the turn signals back but I am concerned about the durability.

I might just add one of these instead:


But again the added weight of the bracket and then the turn signals may not be such a good idea.

Any thoughts on this?

I can only presume the holes are there because the indicator stem has been removed, i believe it was welded in place. The stem does not exist on the CSR as the rear indicators are mounted on lugs on the frame. I have both rear light brackets here. I cannot use the type with indicator stem fitted as it interferes with the rear carrier

the shown bike is my uncle Hubertus' LTD Y2.
It had a stock tail light and the stems were cut off, so the wholes remained.

In Germany there is a legal alternative in regards to indicator light mounting.
At older bikes like our Twins it also replaces the rear indicators.
We call them "Ochsenauge", might be translated to bull's eye.
They are mounted in the outer ends of the steering bar.

The bracket you have shown would be feasable for lightweight flashers (like LED ones).
Depends on thickness of the bracket, if it copes the "heavy" stock flashlights as well ?

I have a modified tail light holder here (not for sale), where the indicator stems were cut off and replaced by a double "bent" tube to allow clearance to rear side bags. This bent tube in fact is not bent but welded from angled tubes and finally was welded back to original stem position at the holder.

I suspected as much but did not think the tubes would be welded to the housing. Maybe my concern for vibration is not unfounded then. The fixtures "look" to be the same size but thought I should check with those closer to the originals. I like those bar end signals but not the name.  Bulls eye sounds like giving the cagers a target to aim for. 

Michael, that's a good idea to about the fabricated stems.  I will keep that in mind as well.

We call them "Dose (plural: Dosen)", that translated is "can" or even better "tin", I think ;-)

Bull's Eye always reminds me to the center of a dart board.

BTW:
There are several nicknames for police men.
Most common one in Germany is "die Bullen".
That is plural of "Bulle", which is a male cow that still has it's balls :-)
The same ones some spanish guys play with in an arena. Torero, ole !

The guys from UK may call the police men "rozzer" ?

How do you call them in this perspective ?
I only know the word "cops" for them.

i don`t know the exact translation for the german nick-name "die Bullen".
Is "ox" or "bull" or "oxes" or "bulls" the right translation for "cops" ?
Maybe it really has to do with the balls.... .?

P.S.: Hi At Large, I think it is no Problem to mount the turn lights in the original position into back light. You should only use a washer or plate, when you are mounting them. I would do. The vibrations spread.
